Test project for reproducing problem

The Google Maps for iOS Component fails to build.
When added to a project through the Component Store, the component generates 103 build errors.

The first build error is:
../GoogleMapsTest/MTOUCH: Error MT5212: Native linking failed, duplicate symbol: '__ZN7gmscore8renderer11Animation3D6UpdateEPKNS0_4TimeE'. (MT5212) (GoogleMapsTest)

Attached is a simple iOS project with the component added. The project doesn't do anything (it has never been successfully built and executed).

I have not located a relevant bug report, but this forum thread discusses the issue https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/50817/google-maps-for-ios-component-update#latest

The component addes the Nuget package Xamarin.Google.iOS.Maps version Adding this package alone also causes the same build errors.

-> components

This only happens on Simulator, as a workaround, adding `--registrar:static` to Additional mtouch arguments to Debug and Release configurations resolves the problem.
Comment 3 Jayden Spring 2015-12-14 17:03:38 UTC
This seems to just cause the application to hang when launching on the simulator.
Comment 4 Israel Soto [MSFT] 2017-11-23 05:30:39 UTC
This seems to be fixed on Google Maps for iOS version
