In iOS (with Xamarin Studio), the Xamarin profiler is getting only one same main method for all the controls in Allocations / Time Profiler ->Call Tree whereas in windows (with Visual studio), we are getting many more methods.
Xamarin Studio 5.9.1 (build 3)
Xamarin Profiler 0.24.0.0
Visual Studio 2015
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure the device is connected with the Mac and Xamarin studio detected the device.
2. Launch the Xamarin profiler from Xamarin studio.
3. Run the Xamarin profiler and get the result for any scenario.
4. Check the result in Allocations Call Tree or Time Profiler Call Tree.
Only one same main method is getting displayed in Allocations / Time Profiler->Call Tree
Should get all proper methods in Allocations / Time Profiler ->Call Tree
In Windows (with Visual Studio), we are getting more methods in Allocations->Call Tree.
What do you mean by "more methods"? Can you please attach a screenshot/screencast of the issue you're seeing?
Created attachment 13652 [details]
Screenshot of more methods getting displayed in call tree in windows
Is this with the same MLPD/app? If so, can you share that MLPD?
Attached the mlpd files
MLPD file of one of our control "Dropdown" in Android (windows)
MLPD file of one of our control "Dropdown" in iOS
The 2 files are generated by 2 different OS, so the runtimes are different, and the information we get is different, so since I see nothing bad in both MLPDs you shared, and the profiler can cope with them without problem, closing this.
