I've seen that ACTool has caused issues in the past, and this could be related to one of those. This is not occurring with iOS9 SR1 builds - I've only seen it in Cycle 6.

The trace of the error is quite long so here is a gist:

Reproduction Steps:
1) Create a new iPhone OpenGL App
2) Pair with a build host
3) Rebuild the solution
Expected Result: Project builds successfully
Actual Result: The above error occurs

I did find, on the forums, a way to make the project build. It was to delete the <ImageAsset> element from the csproj file. Here is the forum link:

I have checked this issue after following the steps mentioned in bug description with C6 builds and observing the same behaviour, getting ACTool fails unexpectedly error when building project in VS.

Hence marking this as Confirmed.

Regression status: This issue doesn't exits with XVS 3.11.1589 + X.iOS

I've verified the fix on the xvs-win-cycle6-35475 branch using the build (94b0155) and x.iOS (39f1950d).

I have checked this issue with latest C6 build and with the help of steps mentioned in bug description and it is working fine. Now I am successfully able to Rebuild 'OpenGL Game' template app successfully.
