Description petr.cech.robot 2015-10-17 14:47:09 UTC
When I add a new component to axml designer and double-click it to change it's text, pressing ENTER deletes the control instead of confirmation

Could you please confirm your full version information?

Visual Studio
"Help -> About Microsoft Visual Studio -> Copy Info [button]"

And also your IDE logs:

Help > Xamarin > Zip Xamarin Logs

It would also be really helpful if you could record a screencast of your steps:

I've figured out why this happens. It occurs only when I press DELETE/BACKSPACE key and the problem is that VS doesn't delete only the text but whole control as well. It happens even without delete when the control is inside LinerLayout (horizontal).
If I'm not clear what I mean:
1. there is a control in visual axml designer (button or edittext)
2. I double-click it to edit it's text property
3. Text field appears instead of control (that's my intent)
4. I type something and use DELETE/ENTER/BACKSPACE key
5. I confirm the change by either clicking away or hitting ENTER
6. Whole control disappears even from XML code

Thanks so much for the report @Petr! I can confirm I am no longer able to reproduce this issue using the latest Visual Studio 15.3 preview builds. Marking this report as RESOLVED:
