Using Xamarin Studio Mac [XS 5.10 Build 811, OS X 10.11 15A284] a series of "pads" are listed in the View menu. If I select a pad which is hidden, it opens it and un-minimizes it. If I select a pad which is visible but is minimized, it un-minimizes it.
However, I can also "tear away" a pad into its own window by selecting the title and dragging out of the window. In this case:
Steps to reproduce: Open any solution. Select View->Pads->Properties. Drag "Properties" out into its own window. Foreground the solution. Select View->Pads->Properties again.
Expected behavior: The Properties window should foreground, because I selected it.
Observed behavior: Nothing happens.
This is exacerbated by bug#34998. If you "tear away" a pad popup, then move the solution window on top of it, you cannot easily get it back because the window menu doesn't work and the view->pads menu also doesn't work.
Fixed in version 184.108.40.2063 (master)
