Description Matthew Regul 2015-10-14 15:26:52 UTC
In Forms you can easily change the ActivityIndicator's color just by changing the Color property, but when deploying to Android the Indicator will keep to the Android theme's default color & style.

(( As a side note, this might also be an issue with Windows Phone as well, as things are changed by providing a different 'ControlTemplate' in XAML in the native WinPhone project ))

(Android Workaround at bottom)

**Steps to Reproduce:**
Run the Android project from this **non-themed** sample

**Actual Results:**
iOS ActivityIndicator's have custom colors, while Android's are all the same (blue)

- Android Screenshot - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62849286/Bugs/BugAndroidActivityIndicatorColor/ExampleAndroid.png

**Expected Results:**
Unified colors between iOS and Android, *if* the color property is supplied

**Build Date & Platform:**

**Additional Information:**
I created a workaround by manually adding my own theme for the ActivityIndicator, using the following forum discussion as a guide - https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/37934/activity-indicator-color

Custom Android Themed Forms ActivityIndicator Project:

 Download - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62849286/Bugs/BugAndroidActivityIndicatorColor/ActivityIndicatorSample_Theme.zip
 Sample's Major Players:
 - MainActivity.cs -- The Theme is defined above the MainActivity class, The selected Theme is called ColorSpinner
 - Resources/values/colors.xml -- Contains the the theme "ColorSpinner"
 - Resources/drawable/progress_bar.xml -- Contains the details about the overridden spinner - thickness, *colors*, type, etc.
In my example I use Green, fading to Blue, fading to Red. The developer would have to change these colors to match their desired color(s) to match their Forms page.
