When there are available Xamarin updates, a notification will pop up in the lower right side corner of the tsskbar. Simply hovering the mouse over the notification will dismiss it. Although, if left undismissed, the notifications will accumulate and fill up the taskbar.
1) Switch to an update channel and install the build
2) Open up multiple Xamarin solutions snd wait for VS to load
3) Observe the accumulation of notifications in the taskbar
Only have one active notification at a time
There is a notification for every VS instance launched
reproducible in 184.108.40.2067
This one should be fixed Ben, please verify.
What build should I test because I saw this behavior not too long ago.
I tested the latest build from xvs-win-cycle6-c6sr1 which was 220.127.116.11 (9f3b5a0) and experienced the same behavior. Also, for clarification, when "updating" a build - do not pick the stable channel as there will not be any update notifications in the taskbar.
Below is a screenshot and a short video demonstrating the issue.
my bad didn't realised about the updates channel.
Thanks so much for taking the time to file this, @Ben! :) Resolving this as NOT-ON-ROADMAP, as this isn't a problem in Visual Studio 2017 and moving forward.
