Steps to reproduce.
Open Xamarin Studio on a Mac.
Create new iPhone project.
Add a storyboard file.
Edit storyboard using XCode Interface Builder.
Drag and drop a Navigation Controller on to the storyboard.
Drag and drop a Bar Button Item into the Navigation bar on the right side.
Drag and drop another Bar Button item right next to the previous button on the right side.
Save and close.
Open the storyboard file in Xamarin Studio (Mac).
You'll see an error saying storyboard cannot be rendered.
Support for this new feature was added in md-addins/eca5d5cfb4201e5791da189cbcd56e523a48b34e . It is unlikely to be added to the Xamarin Studio 5.10 series, so you'll have to wait for a future release before this will work. I can't say for sure when that will be.
Thanks for the report though!
