Description Arsen.Shnurkov 2015-09-25 23:04:44 UTC
When I start mc with System.Diagnostics.Process class, mc gives me the message "Cannot get terminal settings: Inappropriate ioctl for device (25)". That happens because Process.Start create pipes itself instead of taking my handle for newly created pty.

I propose to implement an protected virtual function, which users will be able override to set streams for child process in derived class.

Or to add a special public property "bool RunInPseudoterminalInsteadOfPipes = true;" (which is a worse then previous, because doesn't allow to implement redirections, and previous solution allows).

System.Diagnostics.Process is very windows centric class. We won't extend it as it already have too many issues as it'd be breaking change.

Instead consider using (or extending) Mono.Posix which is more suited for this kind of operation.
