Description James 2015-09-25 17:08:13 UTC
Currently when creating a new Android project the default Target Platform setting is set to "Maximum Compatibility" Which sets the minimum to Android 2.3

We should probably set the default to be Modern development (4.1 and above) as it is a better best practice to encourage new Android developers to target more modern development platforms. Legacy like 2.3 should not be a general practice.

This may just be an artifact of changing the list order.

5.9 the list is
Modern Development
Maximum Compatibility
Latest and Greatest

5.10 is
Maximum Compatibility
Modern Devleopment
Latest and Greatest

As I understand it, this was changed from Modern to Maximum by evangelism and the PM's.

I'd suggest making an RFE it you think this is an issue.
