Saving a setting to SharedPreferences doesn't work.

prefs = PreferenceManager.GetDefaultSharedPreferences(ctx);

Log.Debug("AAAAAA", prefs.GetString("PORT", "ERROR"));

In this example, "ERROR" is displayed.

Using the DDMS in the emulator I can see the sharedpreference file is made, but it's an empty XML file:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8' standalone='yes' ?>
<map />

The problem is that ISharedPreferences.Edit() is returning a new instance every time it's called, and the changes aren't saved _unless_ you call ISharedPreferencesEditor.Commit() on that instance.

If you fix your code to do the following, it will work:

	var prefs = PreferenceManager.GetDefaultSharedPreferences (this);
	var editor = prefs.Edit ();
	editor.PutString ("PORT", "80");
	editor.Commit ();
	Log.Debug ("*jonp*", prefs.GetString ("PORT", "ERROR"));
