Description Stephen Feest 2015-09-21 09:33:42 UTC
The following properties are missing from the UINavigationBarAppearance class compared with those documented at https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/ios/documentation/UIKit/Reference/UINavigationBar_Class/index.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40006887-CH3-SW16

- BarStyle
- Translucent

The only workaround I'm aware of at the moment is setting the corresponding properties on each navigation bar through the storyboard editor (where possible) or in individual view controllers for things like the 'More' view in the tab view controller.

> @property(nonatomic,assign) UIBarStyle barStyle;

`barStyle` is not decorated with an UI_APPEARANCE_SELECTOR so it should not be used for appearance and this contradict your link to Apple documentation. I will file a rdar with Apple for this.

> @property(nonatomic,assign,getter=isTranslucent) BOOL translucent NS_AVAILABLE_IOS(3_0) UI_APPEARANCE_SELECTOR; // Default is NO on iOS 6 and earlier. Always YES if barStyle is set to UIBarStyleBlackTranslucent

`translucent` is decorated but it's missing in XI.

`barStyle` filed with Apple as rdar://22818366

maccore/master bb67bd709d81d9e135018560025b9074a04d5334 has the fix for `translucent`

Closing, `translucent` is in C7 (XI 9.8) and we have a link back [1] to this bug whenever Apple answers us about `barStyle`.
