When committing to git via the MonoDevelop gui, the post-commit hook is
not executed.

When I commit to the same repository from the command line, or e.g. from
Vim's VCSCommand plugin, the hook is executed.

I assume that this bad behavior also occurs with the other hooks, but I
have not tested this.

I commonly use a perl script as post-commit hook that extracts the
latest commit log and sends it to a dedicated email address in order to
have a central time related view of he changes applied to several
repositories in parallel.

Right now I always must remember to either not commit from within
MonoDevelop, or to execute the post-commit script manually from the
command line afterwards, after changing to the root directory of the

Our implementation of git does not support any of the git hooks as of yet. I added a link to the relevant bug on the upstream project so we can monitor progress on this.

Commenting for libgit2 support. LibGit2 will not shell out to implement core git hooks, so we'll still have to implement them on the application side.

Since there is no API yet for executing post-commit hooks, this can't be fixed for a while.
