Description Casper Bollen 2015-09-03 03:28:43 UTC
Description of Problem:

Using a fresh install of Xamarin (version 5.9.5 (build 10)) on Yosemite 10.10.5 without any prior mono installations I get an FSharp.Core.dll reference problem in a newly created mac fsharp library project.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install Xamarin
2. Create new Solution -> Mac -> Library

Actual Results:
Reference for Fsharp.Core.dll not found

Expected Results:
dll to be available and installed by the Xamarin installation procedure

How often does this happen?

Additional Information:
A separate install of the mac mono framework did not resolve the problem. The dll is now definitely there, but still in the editor I see the error message that the reference is not available.

I have checked this issue but I am not able to reproduce this issue.

Steps I followed:
1. Open a F# Library project.

Screencast: http://www.screencast.com/t/HCwUIaoT7n7q

I am able to open the F# project successfully and observed that the F# library project contains the reference Fsharp.core.dll.

Could you please provide IDE logs and build info? So that we can reproduce this issue at our end.

You can get build info from here:
Xamarin Studio => About Xamarin Studio => Show Details => Copy Information

You can get IDE logs from here:
Xamarin Studio => Help => Open Log Directory => Ide.log (copy the latest Ide.logs)

Casper, do you have a homebrew installation of mono by any chance?
Comment 4 Jason Imison 2016-01-05 12:28:27 UTC
I removed the specific version of FSharp.Core that was in the desktop project templates https://github.com/fsharp/xamarin-monodevelop-fsharp-addin/pull/168/files

It will now use the latest version found in the GAC
