It is not possible to preserve nested types with an XML descriptor except for preserving a whole namespace.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create an nested type to be preserved.
2. Create an XML linker descriptor that should preserve the nested type, e.g. <type fullname="*" />
3. Run monolinker.
See attached LinkerTests project.
The nested type is removed.
The nested type is preserved.
The problem is just with wildcards. Nested types can be preserved individually, e.g. <type fullname="LinkerTests.MainClass/NestedClass" /> in the attached project.
There are cases where I need to preserve a group of nested types, though, and matching by wildcard would be ideal.
