After clicking "Create" button

I've faced a problem while creating new solution/project in Xamarin Studio.

I've found few posts with similiar issue that didn't solved:
- https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/32038/problem-creating-a-new-mobile-apps-solution

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Xamarin Studio
2. Choose "New Solution..."
3. Choose Android -> Android App (C#)
4. Enter any valid App Name
5. Click "Next"
6. Click "Create"

I'm using Windows 8 (64x), Xamarin Studio

UPD: Just tried to update Xamarin Studio version to and still have same issue

Can you attach the IDE log (Help - Open Log Directory) after you fail to create the Android project?

My guess is that some part of Xamarin.Android is not installed. You may be able to fix this by repairing the Xamarin install from Control Panel, but if you can get the IDE log first that would be helpful.

I'm getting exactly the same problem on Mac Xamarin Studio 5.9.6.
Same repro steps.

After I click "Create" I get error "Reference to unknown project ignored",
the solution contains UITest project, but no actual application project
(which is probably the real reason behind 'Unknown project').

@Michael - Can you attach the IDE log? (Help - Open Log Directory).

IDE Log file when error happens

Thanks. From the IDE log:

Xamarin.Android SDK not found, disabling Xamarin.Android addin

This means that Xamarin.Android has not been installed so the Android addin is disabled. In Xamarin Studio 5.10 if this happens the project templates will not be available. In Xamarin Studio 5.9 currently the project template will still be visible and Xamarin Studio will just ignore the Android project it cannot create but you end up seeing an error message since the UITest project references the Android project.

To fix the problem can you try repairing the Xamarin install from the Control Panel if you are on Windows. Otherwise you may need to reinstall Xamarin.

Marking this as fixed in Xamarin Studio 5.10. The "Reference to unknown project ignored" error should not occur in Xamarin Studio 5.10 since the Android project templates will be unavailable in the New Project dialog if Xamarin.Android is not installed.
