Description Kris 2012-02-09 14:36:43 UTC
The OpenTK Library provided in Monotouch 5.2 IS NOT compatible with OpenTK 1.0 API.

Several Enumerations are missing, including

PixelStoreParameter, ActiveAttribType, ActiveUniformType, ShaderType, BufferTarget, BlendEquationMode...

The Monotouch OpenTK.Graphics.ES20.GL object typically expects the "All" enumeration as it's parameters

The Standard OpenTK 1.0 Same object uses the more strongly typed Enumerations in almost all cases.

Compare the two APIs here

(Xamarin here uses the weakly typed All enumeration)

(OpenTK Standard uses strongly typed enumerations)

Make the OpenTK.Graphics.ES20 namespace actually match the standard OpenTK 1.0 API exactly.

If backwards compatibility is an issue, then I recommend overloading the existing methods with versions that take the strongly typed Enumerations as parameters.

Fixed (fea26173 master).

This will be included in the upcoming 5.3 beta - note that I've created a new OpenTK-1.0.dll assembly which contains the new (backwards incompatible) API.

OpenTK.dll will continue to exist, but with the old API.

Created attachment 1428 [details]

I've attached the current OpenTK-1.0.dll if you want to try it out - just unzip and reference the dll in there from your project.
