When ever i edit my info.plist and set it so the status bar is opaque it never works. Here are some pics to show its not working.
I have checked this issue and observed that if I change the 'Status Bar Styles' in Info.plist file then changes are not getting reflect on iOS simulator. Please refer the screencast : http://www.screencast.com/t/TNNivJQrD
Could you please confirm that you are getting same behaviour.
Note : I am getting the same behaviour if I check the same on Windows with VS.

Yes i'm getting the same behaviour.
I am reasonably sure this is because 'Black Opaque' has been deprecated and is now being interpreted as meaning 'Light Content'.
Try one of the other allowable values for UIStatusBarStyle and see which ones provide the behaviour you need. The apple documentation for the allowed values, including the iOS version where they were introduced and/or deprecated, is here:
I can't get any to work.
As we've added several improvements to our build system and info.plist support since the bug was reported, I'm resolving it tentatively as Fixed.
That said, if you're still facing this issue with current bits, please feel free to reopen the bug.
