hundreds of broken entries were added from a UI perspective.

I just tried to a ONE new image set (for iOS), and it sat there for 20 seconds, and came back with adding what looks like 100 new imagesets (in the UI), but when I look at what changed on the file system, it just generated 1 new file set:

Your branch is up-to-date with 'origin/master'.
Changes not staged for commit:
(use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed)
(use "git checkout -- <file>..." to discard changes in working directory)

	modified: src/Client.Core/ViewModels/AddingPlaceViewModel.cs
	modified: src/Client.Core/ViewModels/BaseViewModel.cs
	modified: src/Client.Core/ViewModels/PlaceDetailViewModel.cs
	modified: src/Client.Touch/AppDelegate.cs

Untracked files:
(use "git add <file>..." to include in what will be committed)

	src/Client.Touch/Resources/Images.xcassets/Image-120.imageset/

no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a")

But in the UI I see hundreds of Image-xxx.imageset files inserted. I quit the app, and reloaded it -- none of those fake Image Sets showed up. The Image-120.imageset was on the file system, but was not referenced in the project.

On a second attempt (after quitting out and restarting), adding a new image set has not stopped yet -- it keeps going. Looking at the file system WHILE this operation is going on, I see it ever-incrementing the image set files (and deleting the old ones):

This is totally busted... I can privately share my project with you should you need to reproduce it. This doesn't happen on a second application we are working on. So something is definitely broken here, but one of the things that must make a difference is the project itself.

I'm testing this on the sample project we got, but when I create a new "Image Set", it creates Images.imageset and then it's done.

It does not create 100's of directories for me, it creates only 1.

Since this code logs errors to the IDE log file in ~/Library/Logs/XamarinStudio-5.0/Ide.log, could you try reproducing this on your end and then sending me the log file? Perhaps that will reveal the real problem you are having.
Comment 11 Jeffrey Stedfast 2016-03-15 15:24:18 UTC
Can anyone actually reproduce this?
Comment 12 Jeffrey Stedfast 2016-03-16 20:21:31 UTC
closing until/unless someone can confirm that this still happens
Comment 13 abhi 2016-05-13 15:15:48 UTC
I have checked the same with latest Cycle 7 builds 6.0(build 5154). I am successfully able to Adding New Image Set with these builds as well.it,s not
Generated any new Image sets (in the UI) automatic".

This issue is not easily reproducible.

Hence I am verify this issue.

And please feel free to reopen this issue, if someone face this issue again in future.

Thanks!!!
