Installation log

When I try to install Mono for Android the installation of GTK# fails at the very end and rolls back, so I can't complete the installation. This is Windows 7 64-bit. I suspect there may be a problem related to running a custom script at the end of the install, because I've had similar problems with other installations in the past. But VBScript and JScript engines are installed, and I don't know what else might cause the installation to fail like that. I am attaching a full log from the installer. The rror message says "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

Are you using the Mono for Android installer from:

or are you just trying to install GTK# by itself?

I used the trial installer, but when it kept failing I tried running the GTK# MSI file maunally as admin with the full GUI and logging. That's the version of the log that I sent. Either way, it fails in the same place.

Looks like this is the error:

If you are trying to use Visual Studio, this isn't an issue. Gtk# is only required for MonoDevelop support.
Comment 5 ram 2012-01-24 13:58:57 UTC
Yes, I am using VS. But how do I get past this problem in the installer? Is there a way to tell it to skip GTK#? When this fails it retries several times and then stops, and doesn't complete installing the rest of the components.

Here's a link to our old documentation of installing the components individually:

You'll need:
- Java
- Android SDK
- VS addin .msi

You can grab the latest VS .msi here:

--> GTK#

Thanks, I was finally able to get it to install by the methods you described.
