Using Xamarin Studio 5.8.3 (or earlier) on Mac OS X 10.7.5 the Check Update function shows and applies the update to Xamarin Studio 5.9 although this version cannot be started with this OS. Only AFTER the update the message stating Mac OS X 10.9 or higher is required is shown on Xamarin Studio start and thus makes it unusable. Xamarin Studio has to be uninstalled and the old version must be reinstalled. I haven't checked if the settings are preserved.
Hi Bjørn S,
After updating Xamarin Studio 5.9 you are getting message 'Mac OS X 10.9 or higher is required' this is true because Xamarin Studio 5.9 supports Mac OS X 10.9 or higher.
You can not install it on on Mac OS X 10.7.5. Please upgrade your Mac OS X.
