Description matt 2015-05-15 13:15:51 UTC
1. Open XIB in Interface Builder
2. Create Asset Catalog
3. Add single vector image with a pdf file, lets call it 'play_arrow'
4. Use 'play_arrow' image in a button
5. Back to Xamarin Studio, the the xcassets & imageset/Contents.json & play_arrow.pdf file are copied over - this works
6. Build project, Application output shows "Could not find image named 'play_arrow'"
7. Run project, image not visible
8. Open XIB in Interface Builder again, image no where to be found

Upon further testing, it appears that image asset catalogs do not work at all in Xamarin Studio, even without using vectors..

Is there any Xamarin documentation listing what works and doesn't work between the xcode <-> Xamarin Studio interop?

Make sure to set the BuildAction to "ImageAsset" for all files within the Images.xcasset folder.

Looks like that works, thanks. Would be nice if the xcode -> Xamarin exporter was able to do that. Guess this issue can be closed now.

*sigh* looks like I spoke too soon.. not sure what changed but getting the "Could not find image named.." outputs and images not displaying when ran. The images are now showing up between Interface Builder and Xamarin Studio.

Any idea what could be going on?

Updated the title to reflect the bug that image asset sets are broken. Xamarin support please test image assets on latest stable Xamarin, it only takes a few minutes.

Could you post instructions on how to reproduce your issue. Given the back and forth, I'm a bit confused what exactly doesn't work.
