1) Launch Xamarin Studio
2) Version Control > Checkout
3) Choose git
4) In URL enter "https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/enter_bug.cgi?classification=__all"
5) Click OK

Expected: Xamarin Studio informs the user that it is not a valid git repository URL

Actual: Clone fails with "Version control operation failed:. Argument cannot be null. Parameter name: path"

There is no way to validate that a given URL is a git repository. The HTTPS protocol for git allows for any kind of URL to used.

The message should have been "Not a git repository." therefore the bug being reopened is fine. I'll take a look.
