Description Anubhav Ranjan 2015-05-14 15:39:04 UTC
One of our customers is facing issues with TapGestureRecognizer in Android when set NumberOfTapsRequired = 2.
Issue exists since Forms 1.3

#Sample (Created from Sample Code):

I'm having some difficulty getting the TapGestureRecognizer to work properly on Android.
The code below works fine for iOS and WinPhone. However, on Android
it only works if I set NumberOfTapsRequired to 1. When I set it to 2, I get no response when I double tap the icon.

Hope you can help.

var trashIcon = new Image { };
trashIcon.WidthRequest = 50;
trashIcon.HeightRequest = 50;
trashIcon.Source = ImageSource.FromFile("trash.png");

var tapGestureRecognizer = new TapGestureRecognizer();
tapGestureRecognizer.NumberOfTapsRequired = 2;
tapGestureRecognizer.Tapped += (s, e) =>
MessagingCenter.Send<ScanDataCell, string>(this, "deleteDataItem", scanLabel.Text);

Comment 1 Chris King 2015-05-19 13:34:28 UTC
Indeed. The recognizer is not firing if number of taps is 2.
Comment 2 Jason Smith [MSFT] 2015-06-26 03:30:56 UTC
Should be fixed in 1.4.4-pre1
Comment 3 Parmendra Kumar 2015-07-20 13:03:17 UTC
I have checked this issue with Xamarin.Forms 1.4.4-pre2 and its working fine at my end.

Hence closing this issue.
Comment 4 tim.ahrentlov 2015-07-29 14:36:22 UTC
Has this fix tampered with single tap? I'm getting very sluggish behaviour since I upgraded from 1.43 stable to 1.44 stable. Sometimes I need to tap twice, with a 1 sec pause to the get TapGestureRecognizer to fire.
Comment 5 Ken Pespisa 2015-09-01 21:43:48 UTC
I too am getting reports from users for the past few weeks who are claiming taps are sluggish. I've seen the issue myself, but it is intermittent and I can't figure out how to reproduce it consistently.

My app has been in production for a year now on XF and the code for the TapGestureRecognizer hasn't ever changed.
