RESOLVED FIXED

Description Matt Ward 2015-05-13 15:36:08 UTC
Xamarin Studio 5.9.2 will add support for NuGet 2.8.5 but it is still not possible to install the Microsoft.ApplicationInsights NuGet package into this version of Xamarin Studio but it is possible to install it into Visual Studio with NuGet 2.8.3 or 2.8.5 installed. The error you see is:

Adding Microsoft.ApplicationInsights...
The 'Microsoft.ApplicationInsights 0.12.0-build17386' package requires NuGet client version '2.8.50313' or above, but the current NuGet version is '2.8.5.0'.

Microsoft.ApplicationInsights specifies a minClientVersion in its .nuspec file of 2.8.50313. In Visual Studio their version of NuGet has an assembly version of 2.8.60318.667 (product version is 2.8.5). In Xamarin Studio both the assembly version and product version are both 2.8.5.

To fix this problem the NuGet assemblies in Xamarin Studio will need to be updated so they return the same assembly versions as those used by Visual Studio.
