Description Datadec Online 2015-05-13 11:38:47 UTC
I am running a Windows 7.1 x64 operating System with the latest update of Xamarin.Android. When I parse a string with the method StringToDecimal and I test if is higher than 0, returns that is higher. The input string or parameter is "-5" so when parsed to decimal it should be -5 which is not higher than 0.

In the latest version of Xamarin this code was working sucessfully. In fact, it is been almost 3 years working without problems till now.

    private void Test()
      decimal? a = StringToDecimal("-5");

      bool b = a.Value > 0;//it should be false!!!! but is returning true!!!!

      if (b)
        button.Text = "Yes";
        button.Text = "No";

    public static decimal? StringToDecimal(string value)
      if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(value))
        return null;

        if (System.Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.NumberFormat.NumberDecimalSeparator == ",")
          return decimal.Parse(value.Replace(".", ","));
          return decimal.Parse(value);
        return null;
