After upgrading from Xcode 6.2 to 6.3, LauchStoryboards no longer work. Instead, a black screen is displayed in it's place.
**Steps to Reproduce:**
1. Create a new Mobile Apps -> Forms Portable
2. Launch on an iOS 8.3 (Xcode 6.3 must be installed) simulator
The launch screen is not displayed (from the LaunchScreen.storyboard file). Instead a black screen is shown.
The LaunchScreen.Storyboard should be shown.
**Build Date & Platform:**
This works with Xcode 6.2. I also noticed that new iOS Unified projects use a LaunchScreen.xib instead which seems to work.
Can you get the complete version information from XS' about menu (since that's where the templates are)?

I can't reproduce any problems with those exact versions.
Can you try with an earlier simulator (8.1 / 8.2) and see if the behavior is the same?
Can you also zip up and attach your project to make sure we're testing the same thing?
Created attachment 10912 [details]
Attached a brand new project that reproduces this for me. Here is what I am seeing: http://screencast.com/t/zmlvDWkxlEhz
I also tried on an 8.1 simulator, same result.
OK, I can now reproduce with 8.9, but it seems to be fixed with XI 8.10. @John, can you try XI 8.10 and confirm if it works for you as well?8.10
8.10 is now Stable, so I'm closing this. Please reopen if you can still reproduce it.
