Shows how the serialization works with a List but fails with ObservableCollection.
You can use DataContractJsonDeserializer to deserialise a string into a List<T> but you can't deserialise into ObservableCollection<T>.
System.InvalidCastException. Unable to cast object of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List'1[BugObservableCollection.SearchParam]' to type 'System.Collections.ObjectModel.ObservableCollection'1[BugObservableCollection.SearchParam]'
I use the same deserialization into an ObservableCollection in a Silverlight app where it works fine.
Test app attached.
I encountered this as well when porting a Windows Phone app to the iPhone.
It would be great to get this addressed so that special iPhone-specific code isn't required.
This works with 7.0.7 - but it likely worked for quite some time (perhaps back to the mono 3.0 move in XI 6.4)
