The Version Information doesn't update until MonoDevelop is restarted.
This can be confusing when installing a new version of MonoTouch, check that it is installed correctly (MonoDevelop doesn't get restarted) by going to "About MonoDevelop" -> "Version Info" tab only to see the old version of MonoTouch displayed, after a restart, this information is correct.
We should restart as this causes other issues such as any static state calculated on startup will be incorrect. One consequence of this is that if you check for updates right after installing an update, you'll end up re-downloading and re-installing the updates you just installed. Building could also be broken due to incorrect static state etc.
Updating MonoTouch or iOS SDKs should not require MonoDevelop to be restarted, MD attempts to detect the changes in the MonoTouch and SDK versions and reload the caches.
I suspect the method that checks the caches only gets called in the build code, maybe the about dialog should call it too.
I updated MonoTouch version 5.2.12 to 5.3.5 and the version information did not reflect until I restarted MonoDevelop. I believe the problem persists.
The dialog now checks whether the version has changed.
