Description Eugeny 2015-04-04 07:37:40 UTC
Hi,

Recently I’ve downloaded .NET sources (https://github.com/dotnet/corefx) and tried to play around with them. Unfortunately, when I try to build projects, I get an exception with few details on it while my build log verbosity level is set to Detailed. None of corefx solutions is building.

For example,
Building: System.Text.Encoding.CodePages (OSX_Debug)
error: <…>/Repositories/GitHub/corefx/src/System.Text.Encoding.CodePages/src/System.Text.Encoding.CodePages.csproj: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

I have checked this Issue with few samples from corefx and I am getting build error for all. This is the build output for the same: https://gist.github.com/saurabh360/c22bd65e1408b050815c

But this error is different from the error mentioned in Issue.

Xamarin Studio does not currently support building .NET Core libraries. Those libraries must be built using the .NET Core runtime, and Xamarin Studio uses the Mono runtime. We plan to add support for .NET Core projects in the future (there is a third party add-in that add basic support for that), but that's not yet officially supported.
