Updated Alpha to 5.1 this morning and can't find any mention that this was a breaking change. In a Fragment I call:
LogoDateTimeView = this.ChildFragmentManager.FindFragmentById<LogoDateTimeView>(Resource.Id.LogoDateTimeViewMenu);
which now returns null.
Was this an intentional change?

Depends on why its failing. :-)
My guess is that it's due to changing the minSdkVersion default:
Please try bumping the minSdkVersion value to match your $(TargetFrameworkVersion). If that works, please let me know.
Thanks Jon. My min and target are both API21.
I updated my Android SDKs to make sure I have latest b/c Android designer is crashing XS like crazy.
It didn't solve that nor this null issue.
Please provide a sample so that I can more easily poke around.
I built out a sample project, but of course it doesn't demonstrate the problem. I introduced Mvx and I'm still not able to reproduce it.
I'm still observing the problem in my project, but it's not a blocker.
I'll post back if I can isolate a good condition to reproduce it for you in a sample.
Ok, this project should show ChildFragmentManager failing, but FragmentManager succeeding when using the current Alpha channel.
2 branches, master and mvx. Both show the sample result.
Using the Stable channel, both succeed.
This is really strange, I have 2 seemingly identical environments. One only works with ChildFragmentManager and the other only works with FragmentManager on the same line.
I'm attaching both of our details. One is Indie and the other Enterprise. Both running stable channel. Same Android SDKs best I can tell.
Any clue what might be causing this disparity?
The code in question is simply this, an MvxFragment getting a reference to a child fragment in the OnCreateView.
LogoDateTimeView = (LogoDateTimeView)ChildFragmentManager.FindFragmentById(Resource.Id.LogoDateTimeViewMenu);
