For programmatic navigation, we need to instantiate ViewController by using Storyboard.InstantiateViewController.
When using iOS designer in Xamarin Studio after setting the storyboard id, the Storyboard.InstantiateViewController fails throwing objective-c error stating that View Controller with Storyboard Id not found. Having checked the sample Hello iOS, i could not see the Storyboard Id set in iOS Designer but Xcode shows it set.
I then removed the Storyboard Id being set in my project and set it using Xcode and the call now works but iOS designer shows no value in place.
Could be the same issue as 27934, the alpha channel should have a fix now.

No worries, your bug helped me track down the original as I was hunting for it due to reports of another customer. Thanks for your help with posting this bug!
