The compiler crashed was caused by these two characters <> in the editor.
The line was: rs = serializer.Deserialize<>(jsonTextReader) as String ;
Here is the complete code using json.net
public static String JSONDeserializeString(Stream repContent)
String rs = null;
JsonSerializer serializer = new JsonSerializer();
using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(repContent))
using (JsonTextReader jsonTextReader = new JsonTextReader(sr))
rs = serializer.Deserialize<>(jsonTextReader) as String ;
catch (Exception ex )
throw new Exception(ex.Message, ex);
this line should be equal to rs = serializer.Deserialize(jsonTextReader) as String ;
I don't understand what this has to do with the debugger? Sounds like you meant compiler...
I cannot reproduce the issue using master or mono 4.0
i was using Xamarin studio 5.7.1 on MAC os
