Xamarin devenv log

Using VS 2013 Pro, I was attempting to publish a ClickOnce app via ftp and received this error:

Failed to connect to 'ftp://xxx.xxx/' with the following error: Unable to create the Web site 'ftp://xxx.xxx'. The components for communicating with FTP servers are not installed.

If I uninstall Xamarin, I can publish successfully.

Not sure if it's pertinent, but there is an exception in the log. I've attached it.

Note this PC has a fresh OS and application install

### Description

Unable to publish to FTP sites when Xamarin Visual Studio is installed

### Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a clean version of Visual Studio with Xamarin XVS 3.8+ installed
2. Create a sample C# app, preferred ClickOnce, but does not need to be
3. Attempt to publish an app via FTP

### Expected Results

Test app should deploy to FTP site

### Actual Results

Fails to deploy with connection failure

### Workaround

Uninstalling the Xamarin component allows this to work, however this is not a sustainable workaround

Comment 5 RLand 2015-06-01 10:10:56 UTC
The latest version listed in my account for download is 3.11.458.
You indicate the issue is resolved in 3.11.584.

Is this a typo? Is the issue fixed in 3.11.458?
Comment 6 Andreas Sandin 2015-07-06 11:16:36 UTC
I have the same problem in Visual Studio 2015 RC with Xamarin 3.11.590.0.
Comment 7 atari77 2015-10-21 12:58:31 UTC
Still occurs, have sent logs to 'Oliver Gomersall'.
Comment 15 PJ 2016-02-18 21:53:42 UTC
Hi all, hopefully you are no longer experiencing the issue, but if you are we’d love to help figure it out and fix it.

If you are still experiencing it, we're looking to get the specific XVS version info of the builds that you're hitting the issue with, since the team here was having a difficult time reproducing with recent builds.

Moving this to our next release milestone for now (C7), we'll mark it as RESOLVED NO_RESPONSE if we're unable to connect before that release is done, but even if that happens feel free to REOPEN with additional information.
Comment 16 atari77 2016-02-22 09:50:57 UTC

Have just installed the latest public version and the publish issue seems to be resolved.

Many thanks
Comment 17 Jose Gallardo 2016-04-11 16:13:45 UTC
Thanks for the update. Changing the state to Resolved.
Comment 18 casaout 2016-04-16 10:33:15 UTC
Unfortunately, it seems I am experiencing the same issue with the most recent (stable) version of Xamarin. Details:

- Xamarin Studio Enterprise (5.10.3 (build 51))
- Xamarin for Visual Studio 4.0.3

Uninstalling Xamarin every time is no solution for me, as I regularly need both (publishing & Xamarin). Thanks for your help.
