With the latest source code from the mlnodevelop/master branch the solution pad context menu, when you click the icon on the right, is using a GTK# menu and not the native Mac menu. If you right click the item instead of using the icon then the native Mac menu is shown. The native Mac menu should be shown and not the GTK# menu.

The source code from the monodevelop-5.7-branch does not have this behaviour. The native Mac menu is shown as expected.

I have checked this issue and able to reproduce this. To reproduce this issue I have followed the steps and instruction provided in bug description.

Steps I followed:

1. Create any application in XS.
2. Right click on folder like 'Components', 'Resources','Packages' etc.
3. Context menu will appear, observed that it is using native Mac menu.
4. Click the icon on the right, observed that it is using a GTK# menu.

I observed that if I right click on the item instead of using the icon then the native Mac menu is shown, and if I click on the icon on the right, observed that a GTK# menu is shown. Please refer the screencast: http://www.screencast.com/t/DSjIkajSyr

We could use the new menu abstraction here

This seems to be fixed on master. I tried Xamarin Studio and the solution pad menu when clicking the button/icon now looks native. Also the New Project dialog's language drop down now looks native too.
Comment 7 Cody Russell 2015-06-24 10:53:54 UTC
It's not fixed yet. If you right-click a file in the solution explorer and compare its menu to the one you get clicking the icon, you'll see differences in the drop shadow and in the spacing above the top menuitem and stuff.
Comment 8 Lluis Sanchez 2015-06-29 09:02:26 UTC
I don't see any difference.
Comment 9 Cody Russell 2015-06-30 00:20:20 UTC
I was wrong, I just set a breakpoint and it is using the native menus now.

I have checked this issue with latest Master Xamarin Studio 5.10 (build 320) and observed that the solution pad menu when clicking the button/icon now looks native menu. Also the New Project dialog's language drop down now looks native menu too.
