After installing Xamarin Platform I can barely open any Visual Studio project.
These projects are all Windows ones, not related to Android.
Even the Visual Studio started to debug the crashing Visual studio crashed, but finally I managed to start one which reported this:
System.AccessViolationException was unhandled
Message: An unhandled exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in LibGit2Sharp.dll
Additional information: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
Original Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE\CommonExtensions\Microsoft\TeamFoundation\Team Explorer\LibGit2Sharp.dll
Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition
First of all, let me apologize for the lack of responses in such a long time. We're working hard on improving our bug handling to avoid cases like this in the future.
Regarding this particular issue, there were many improvements on our product since you reported it.
We never could reproduce it or got any other report of a similar issue, hence I will mark it as resolved.
If you do still facing it, please feel free to reopen the issue.
In that case, please add the following information:
1. Xamarin Logs
Go to the menu "Help - Xamarin - Zip Logs". Please attach that zip file to the bug report.
2. Environment information
Go to the menu "Help - About Microsoft Visual Studio" and press "Copy Info". Please paste that info into a Bugzilla comment.
