Description Greg Najda 2014-12-08 22:57:37 UTC
See parameter names in .NET at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms145162%28v=vs.110%29.aspx

See parameter names in mono at https://github.com/mono/mono/blob/master/mcs/class/System/System.Net.Sockets/Socket.cs

.NET has byte[] buffer, int offset, int size, SocketFlags socketFlags, out SocketError errorCode

mono has byte [] buf, int offset, int size, SocketFlags flags, out SocketError error

The buffer, socketFlags, and errorCode parameter names are incorrect in mono. This affects all overloads of Send() that have those parameters.

Parameter names must be the same for code that passes parameters by name to compile on both platforms, eg:

Socket s;
SocketError error;
s.Send(buffer: new byte[128], offset: 0, size: 128, socketFlags: SocketFlags.None);
