Steps to reproduce:
1.Install previous version of MonoDevelop(i.e-MonoDevelop 184.108.40.206).
2.Go to Terminal and type
MONODEVELOP_UPDATER_TEST=XamarinProVar Open -n MonoDevelop.app
Go to Preference and Select 'Test' Under Install unstable developer updates under Updated.
4.Click 'Check for Updates'
5.Verify that Beta version(i.e MonoDevelop 2.9.1) displayed instead of MonoDevelop 2.8.5
Stable version(MonoDevelop 2.8.5) should be displayed on popup.
When user upgrade MonoDevelop stable version from MonoDevelop 220.127.116.11 to MonoDevelop 2.8.5.it displayed Beta version (MonoDevelop 2.9.1) on popup.

Assuming this was fixed by the new update download dialog. Please reopen if it happens again.
Today we have checked this issue with the following builds:
Now,Check for update window has Update Channel drop down with Stable|Beta|Alpha options and on selecting Stable|Beta|Alpha options from the check for update it downloads related builds.
Hence marking this issue as a 'VERIFIED'.
