Description Dominic N [MSFT] 2014-11-14 11:37:22 UTC
We experienced a situation with a customer recently where they were trying to develop iOS in Visual Studio. They connected to their Build Host, but did not have Xcode installed.

There was no error message that was thrown to the customer to indicate that this was the case. I would like to suggest we add a Windows side error message to prompt the user to install the Apple Developer Tools if they are not installed. This should help avoid some confusion in the future.

Today, I have checked this issue with:
VS 2013
Windows 8
XVS 3.7.248-1 and XVS 3.8.150

[Condition]: Xcode is not installed on mac build host

I have tried to reproduce this issue but unable to reproduce it, we are getting error message "Apple iOS SDK not found. Please make sure Xcode is properly installed in the mac Build host and properly configured in tools->Options in VS.

As per my understanding VS gives a proper error message, when user tries to connect VS with mac build host(no Xcode installed).
