Description Eric Weinschenk 2014-10-31 10:06:45 UTC
if we just #defines at the top of our file to "comment in" code, the code editor shows the code in the #if as commented out.

similar to bug 4024, but different.
Comment 1 Ram Chandra 2014-10-31 11:45:11 UTC
I have checked this issue but I am unable to reproduce this issue.

When I #define at the top of my class, I observed that text editor doesn't display the comment code in #if block.

Steps I followed:

1. Create a Console application in Xamarin Studio.
2. Write the following line at the top of "Main.cs" file.
       #define comment
3. Write the following code in "Main" method.
           #if (comment)
			Console.WriteLine("This is Commnet");
            #endif

Could you please provide build information ? So that we can reproduce this issue at our end.

Comment 2 Eric Weinschenk 2014-10-31 12:29:24 UTC
Ram,

Thank you for the quick response. Your screencast was very helpful.

I've determined that this error only occurs if there is a //comment after the #define, such as:

#define comment //Comment is turned on

this is an easy workaround for us though, so it's not high priority.

Thanks.

Thanks Eric.

With the help of comment 2, I am able to reproduce this issue.

When I write a comment at the end of #define statement, I observed that text editor shows the code in the #if directives as commented.
