Connecting via svn+ssh creates an error

url is svn+ssh://name:password@myserver/data/subversion/mobile/

(password is always visible in repository configuration)

ERROR: To better debug SSH connection problems, remove -q option from SSH options in subversion config..... etc.

This error message is given with or without -q in my subversion config.

Hint: I also use Flex builder 4.5 which also uses the same config file, but can connect fine. BUT, it needs the right svn interface (SVNKit (pure java) v1.3.5.7406) to work. The other java HL does not work.

svn from the command line also works, which is what I do right now.

As far as I can tell, even without the password, the latest shipped verison (stable) has dropped support completely for SVN on the Mac...
Comment 2 traderhut 2013-03-30 05:01:21 UTC
(Assuming that is true, it needs to be changed to importance: Critical, not low)
Comment 3 traderhut 2013-03-30 05:04:44 UTC
BTW: SVN plug in is "installed", but it no longer shows up in the drop down for Checkout - just Git, and my project is "not under version control" according to XS...

On Lion and Mountain Lion, you need to install the Xcode command line tools to get SVN working.

So, what's the status of this?
Comment 6 Alan McGovern 2013-07-31 08:33:18 UTC
If command line scn works then so should we. Maybe the issue is our authentication providers have been incorrectly set up and we have none which passes the SSH keys to libsvn and libsvn is expecting us to do that.

We'll need to set up an svn+SSH connection somewhere and validate it.

Was there an update to XCode that caused the requirement for the command line to be installed? I updated to Xamarin Studio and lost my ability to connect to SVN repos. The dropdown only offers GIT, and it also says the project is not under version control anymore. I've not tried to do a 'checkout' using GIT (it isn't IN git, so a 'check in' to GIT would be what I would expect.

I'm running W/O Version control because of this. (I could do a checkin from the command line, but haven't had that many changes so I've not done that - also, being that I'm running on a Mac with time machine I can always roll back that way..)

The same trouble.
svn 1.7 command line is installed.
The dropdown only offers GIT, and it also says the project is
not under version control anymore.

@canab, this is another issue.

It's actually https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15610
Comment 10 Calin Turcu 2013-12-10 01:31:54 UTC
I've just installed Xamarin Studio 4.2.2 that states in the release notes to bring support for SVN back. Still don't see SVN in the dropdown, only GIT. I'm confused, are there two distinct issues in XS regarding SVN (this bug and #15610) or am I missing something? Command line tools are installed.

Is this still an issue. AFAIK this was fixed long time ago.

Assuming fixed re: comment #11
