Description Christopher Svanefalk 2014-10-12 07:21:41 UTC
There appears to be no clear way of setting the width of the Master property in a MasterDetailPage. The width remains fixed, on some devices filling most of the screen. See this thread for an example:

I have checked this issue and able to reproduce it.

I tried following steps to reproduce it.
1.Create a Xamarin form application.
2.Add a class(.cs) and inherit MasterDetailPage.
3.Did some code to set width

 this.Master = new ContentPage
                BackgroundColor= Color.Red,
                Title = "Color List",
                // Title required!
                Content = new StackLayout
                    Children =

I observed that Width of masterpage is not getting changed when I implement code to change the width of master page with using property "WidthRequest=100".

At this time we are not targeting the ability to change the widtch of the Master without a renderer. However it has been resolved to be a sane width on Android unlike before.

We may re-visit this topic in the future.
