Description John Miller [MSFT] 2014-10-09 10:36:15 UTC

Visual Studio will continue to target monotouch even after following the steps here for referencing Xamarin.iOS: http://developer.xamarin.com/guides/cross-platform/macios/updating_ios_apps/

**Steps to Reproduce:**

Follow the steps here for updating an existing classic API project: http://developer.xamarin.com/guides/cross-platform/macios/updating_ios_apps/

**Actual Results:**

   VS still uses monotouch.dll

**Expected Results:**

The project should be referencing Xamarin.ioS.dll

**Build Date & Platform:**

   VS 3.7

**Additional Information:**

Attached is a sample and a video of the steps taken. (Open the .swf in chrome to view)

I have checked this issue and with the help of bug description I am able to reproduce this issue.

When I follow the following doc, I am not able to update classic API project to unified API project.

Steps I followed:

1. Create classic API "Class Library( iOS | Classic API ) project.
2. Update the "project Guid" from csproject to "FEACFBD2-3405-455C-9665-78FE426C6842".
3. Remove the "MonoTouch" library.
4. Add the "Xamarin.iOS" library

I observed that application is still targeting to "MonoTouch". I also observed that when I update the "Xamarin.iOS" it still display "MonoTouch" library but I have already removed the "MonoTouch" library and added the "Xamarin.iOS" library from reference.

Note: I have also checked the same with XS on Mac environment and observed that I am able to update
classic API project to unified API project.

Given that this is issue has been reported a long time ago and also now there is no more Classic API, I mark this issue as Resolved.

If there are still issues by converting old Classic API projects, please feel free to re open it
