Description Cody Beyer (MSFT) 2014-09-25 22:44:00 UTC
I'm having an issue with the Xamarin for Visual Studio extension for Visual Studio 2012. When this extension is installed, all Razor syntax highlighting and Intellisense stops working in MVC 5 projects. (MVC 4 works just fine.)

Removing the Xamarin for Visual Studio 2012 feature in the installer resolves this issue - but it is incredibly annoying to have to toggle this feature on and off. Is there a different way for me to permanently resolve this issue?

I'm running Windows 8.1 with Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 (Update 4) and Xamarin installed.

Thanks for your help!

For bookkeeping, I'll note that this was entered into Bugzilla based on a report from the forums:

I'll also note that this bug is _not_ a duplicate of bug 26850. (See bug 26850, comment 5.)

I tried to reproduce this issue but not able to reproduce this. To reproduce this issue I have followed the steps mention below :

1. Create an "ASP.NET VC4 web application in VS 2012."
2. Open any cs page and type something.
3. Observed that Syntax Highlighting/Intellisense is working fine.
4. Follow the same steps for "ASP.NET MVC5 web application."

Could you please let me know that what steps I am still missing/wrong to reproduce this issue. That would be very helpful to reproduce this issue at our end.
