Description Dominic N [MSFT] 2014-09-25 00:05:00 UTC
## Overview

After clicking a notification for an app in the status bar in an Android application, the app does not show up in the application switcher.

Upon starting the application, the home button can be pressed and the app can be found in the app switcher. After receiving a notification for said app and then clicking it so that the app starts, the app will no longer be visible in the application switcher.

This has been reproduced with a sample application provided by the customer (will be attached in a private comment) as well as with a project created from scratch by support.

## Steps to reproduce

With the provided sample app (that allows you to trigger a notification
notification by clicking the "Map" alternative in the navigation drawer):

1. Start the app.
2. Click the home button
3. Click the app switcher button. The app should be in the list of apps that show up there.
4. Open the app using the app switcher.
5. Open the navigation drawer (left menu) by either clicking the left
button in the ActionBar or sliding from the left edge of the display.
6. Send a notification by clicking the top item in the left menu "Karta" (=
Map). The left menu will close.
7. Click the home button
8. Slide down the notification bar and click on the notification. The
notification will say "HBGM - Testnotification for debug!".
9. Click the home button
10. Click the app switcher button.

## Expected Results

App remains visible in app switcher

## Actual Results

App disappears from app switcher.

I have tried to reproduce this issue but I am unable to reproduce this issue.

I have downloaded the attached sample and I am able to build sample successfully but when I try to deploy sample project on emulator, I am getting following exception:

[MonoDroid] System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
