I’m having an issue that’s making my appellation pretty much unusable on iOS 8 with an iPad 2. I’m trying to find ways to elevate the problems and fix them completely (if it’s not an apple problem…). Mind taking a look and seeing if you can help me out?

On my iPad Air (w/iOS 8.0.2) the app seems to consume an enormous amount of memory (the device has rebooted four times, and I've never seen the labels show up, the app stays white with only the "Press me to load objects" button visible, with a lot of memory errors/warnings in the device log). Instruments shows memory usage I've never seen before (the Allocations tool show 1,4 GB of UILabels [1]).

OTOH the app seems to run fine on my iPad 2 (w/iOS 7.0.4).

I believe it's safe to say you've found an issue in iOS 8.

My recommendation would be to use fewer UILabels and/or report this to Apple.

In any case I'm closing this bug report, since it's not an issue with Xamarin.iOS.

I suspected it wasn't a Xamarin thing, thanks for confirming. I have been optimizing for the current state of iOS 8 as well as reporting to Apple. Thanks for investigating.
