Most of the time when I launch my Genymotion emulator when Xamarin Studio is already open, it doesn't detect the device. Sometimes it's enough to just restart Xamarin Studio and it the emulator will show up.
Note that doing "Tools -> Manage Android Devices -> Refresh" doesn't help, it refreshes the list but the Genymotion emulator doesn't show up.
Occasionally it will show up by itself after a few minutes of not doing anything though, and occassionally I need to restart both Xamarin and Genymotion to get it working.
Hi, can you let me know if this is any better with Xamarin Studio 5.3+ There were some fixes that helped with reliability with the device notifications from ADB.
I'm closing this for now, please feel free to reopen if the problem recurs along with any additional information you have to help us resolve the issue.
Just a note, I should have mentioned regarding "refresh" and Genymotion. The Refresh command is more appropriately a "Restart ADB Server", because that's actually what it does. Because Genymotion connects via tcp to the server, restarting adb won't fix the issue, you'd have to get genymotion to reconnect (or issue the connect command via adb yourself).
