Please create a new report on
Developer Community or GitHub with
your current version information, steps to reproduce, and relevant error
messages or log files if you are hitting an issue that looks similar to
this resolved bug and you do not yet see a matching new report.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Genymotion emulator.
2. Open Android project in Xamarin Studio. Notice that the Genymotion emulator is displayed in the Connected Devices list.
3. Quit the Genymotion emulator.
4. Reopen the Genymotion emulator.
5. Notice that the Genymotion emulator can no longer be found in the Connected Devices list, only the emulators in the Available Emulators list are available.
6. Click Tools - Manage Android Devices... and then click Refresh, notice that the Genymotion emulator still isn't found.
7. Quit Xamarin Studio then reopen it and the Android project. Notice that now the Genymotion emulator is found again.
This is a really annoying issue, every time the Genymotion emulator has to be closed and reopened, Xamarin Studio doesn't find it in the Connected Devices list. Quitting and reopening Xamarin Studio allows the Genymotion emulator to be detected again. Whatever Android device detection occurs on Xamarin Studio startup should also take place regularly while the app is open, as well as when the Manage Android Devices... Refresh button is clicked, that way we don't have to quit and reopen Xamarin Studio every time.
I tried to reproduce this issue at my end, but the issue was not reproducible.

Then you probably don't use Xamarin Studio / Genymotion for development regularly. Anyone who is using Xamarin Studio and Genymotion can tell you that this occurs multiple times per day.
I don't seem to see this issue anymore after upgrading Xamarin nor are the other developers, it correctly finds the emulator every time now. I'm not sure if you guys intentionally did a fix or not in the last month, but it's working great now so thanks!
As per the comment 3, now this issue doesn't exits. Hence I am closing this issue.
