Description eb1 2011-11-23 10:59:19 UTC
I have a C++ project that I created in Monodevelop. Project Options, Build/Code Generation, Libraries tab allows to browse to a static or shared library.

If the library name is all lowercase then it works as expected, the library gets added as "/path/to/library/libbla.so" when compiling.

However, if the library name contains upper case characters (like libBlaFoo.so), then MonoDevelop adds the following compiler options: -L"/path/to/library" -l"libBlaFoo.so"
which the compiler doesn't like.

MonoDevelop needs to add the library either as "/path/to/library/libBlaFoo.so", or as -L"/path/to/library" -l"BlaFoo" (omitting pre- and suffix).

As a workaround, one can edit the selected library name before adding it to the list and remove the "lib" and ".so" parts.
