We have checked but we are not observing this issue.
We are able to open XS on windows and as well as on mac machine.Could you please provide us the steps that you have followed and let us know how frequently you are observing this crash?
Windows 6.1.7601.65536 (64-bit)
Xamarin Studio: 5.1 (build 479)
Release ID: 501000479
Git revision: e5a428cec75d4cc7e6e3ccd8192a3660d013e7dc
Build date: 2014-06-26 09:33:02-04
Xamarin addins: 190d93e026e17280e75a3680ef38f2630b9228d3
Step 1: launch the XamarinStudio.exe
Result: dialog box that it crashes, i could try to use JIT debugging... but yeah won't tell me much ;-)
This is a fresh install from XamarinInstaller.exe, i wassent able yet to even run it once.
OS version: Windows 8.1
So basically i was never able to run the xs since installation.
And i'm getting this crash on each try.
The logs show that you have installed Xamarin Studio 4.2.3, while the latest is 5.0. Can you please try installing the latest release?
If you already downloaded and installed the latest release and you still have the same problem, you might have a corrupted installation. Try restarting your machine to ensure there is no pending installation work. You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling again.
It was a corrupted installation apperntly.
Uninstalled the old version and new version. Rebooted and reinstalled the new version.
Now it works properly. Sorry ..diden't noticed that i installed 2 versions and that it was conflicting :-)
